RENEWAL OF VOWS CEREMONIES

A renewal of vows can come in so many different formats.  You might choose to echo the sentiments of your original wedding ceremony, or something a little more low key and unique.  However you choose to do it, it's a great way to renew your commitment to each other as a couple

What is a renewal of vows?

A renewal of vows is a way of renewing you commitment to your partner.  This can be designed to recreate the feel of your original wedding or civil ceremony with the same vows and format.  Or it could be designed to represent where you are now as a couple.

Perhaps you have a bigger family now and you want to include them in your ceremony, to show the journey you've had since your wedding.  Your ceremony could talk about all the things you've done together over the years and how amazingly full and enriching your lives together have been.

How many years do you have to be married before renewing your vows?

There's really no set rule on this.  You could have a renewal of vows after your first year of marriage.  You could wait until your ruby or golden wedding anniversary, it's completely up to you!

Whenever the time feels right to celebrate, that's the right time.

What's in a renewal of vows ceremony?

You decide on how you want the ceremony to go.  It could follow a traditional wedding format, with a walk down the ailse, blessing of the rings, vows, resigning of the certificate and an exit with confetti. Or it could look very different or more informal.  Nothing is set in stone with a renewal of vows ceremony, as everyone couple is so different.

We could plan to include you children or grandchildren.  A lovely way to do this is with a cermony of water, candles, or sand which symbolises how integrated you all are as a family.  This style of ceremony can make the renewal of vows also feel a like a celebration of your whole family.

Get in touch

Send me a message with your ceremony date, and if I'm free we can have initial video or audio call to have a chat about what your vision is.

Let's meet up

Time to meet for a coffee, or visit your venue to go through the finer details.  This is when I'll get to know you both,  and your story as a couple.  This gives me everything I need to write a bespoke script for you.

Script and ceremony

Once I've written the script, I'll send you a draft and we can work on it together.  After any revisions, the only thing left to do is to deliver the ceremony on your big day!!
